How to play Overcooked with phones as controllers

Every Overcooked round with new players starts with someone asking which button chops. On this layout the button says CHOP, so nobody has to ask. This guide gets four people cooking with the phones in their pockets.

Here is what using it looks like

1. Install QR Controller from Steam on the PC that runs Overcooked, and open it. A QR code appears on the main screen.
2. Set Controller Type to the Overcooked layout.
3. Add one controller per chef, up to four. You can add more slots mid game night if more people show up.
4. Everyone scans the QR code with their phone camera. The controller opens in the browser, no app store visit, no accounts.
5. Players show up in the app as they join. Drag them between controller slots if it matters who's chef one.
6. Start Overcooked. It sees four normal gamepads!

Every button is labeled

The buttons say CHOP, PICK UP and DASH. There's also an EMOTE button, and SWITCH CHEF for the modes where you're running two chefs at once. New players just read their phone and start cooking.
