QR Controller on Linux and Steam Deck
We added a native Linux build!
Offically we support Windows / Linux (SteamOS) / Mac! Install from Steam on Linux or a Steam Deck, scan a QR Code, and your phone is a gamepad. No driver install when you go through Steam, it just works.
Every phone shows up as an Xbox-style pad, and there's no four-pad ceiling like on Windows. Native Linux games see a normal controller. Proton games see a normal controller too!
Here is what using it looks like
Install QR Controller from Steam, put the QR code on the screen (or the TV), and friends scan it. Thats it! Their phone is a controller.
A Steam Deck in a dock, plugged into the TV, is a great way todo couch co-op. Install from Steam on the Deck, put the QR code on the TV, and everyone's phone becomes a controller for whatever the Deck can run. The Deck travels too, so game night doesn't need to be at the house with the PC.
Steering wheel mode works here as well. Tilt the phone, and racing games see a proper wheel. Any game that supports gamepads will work just like that!
Want to try it?QR Controller is on Steam for Windows, macOS, SteamOS and Linux. One purchase, friends scan a QR code and play in their browser.
