How to drive BeamNG.drive with your phone as the wheel
In the BeamNG layout, Restart is a big, easy to reach button, so you can reset your car quickly after a crash. Setup takes about a minute.
Here is what using it looks like
- Install QR Controller from Steam and open it.
- Set Controller Type to the BeamNG.drive layout. The variant with the throttle and brake slider is named Sliders.
- Point your phone camera at the QR code. The controller opens in the browser, and BeamNG sees it as a normal gamepad.
- For motion steering, open the controller in the free companion app, or switch to Via Internet and scan again.
- Tap Enable Motion Control, hold the phone like a wheel, and go drive!
What's on the phone
Throttle and brake sit on one slider. Push up to go, pull down to stop, and there's a small vibration at the neutral point so you can find it without looking. Also mapped: Shift Up, Shift Down, EBreak, Change Camera, Rewind, and a MiniMap button.
Tilt to steer, and Restart is right there when you need it!
