How to play Assetto Corsa with a phone for a wheel
Assetto Corsa is a proper sim, and a phone wheel holds up there! A Steam review from a sim racer who can't keep a real wheel where they live said they prefer this over a controller and called the app ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Here's how to set it up.
Here is what using it looks like
- Install QR Controller from Steam (Windows, macOS, SteamOS and Linux) and launch it.
- Set Controller Type to the Assetto Corsa layout.
- Scan the QR code with your phone camera. The controller loads in the browser.
- For motion steering, open the controller in the free companion app, or flip the connection to Via Internet and rescan.
- Tap Enable Motion Control and hold the phone like a wheel. Assetto sees a normal gamepad!
What's on the phone
Throttle and brake live on one vertical slider with a vibration marker at neutral. After a couple of laps, modulating brake pressure with a thumb feels great.
Buttons: Shift Up, Shift Down, EBreak, Change Camera, and Horn.
